About Emma

I'm  Emma Kilkelly, a CORU Registered Senior Speech and Language Therapist based in Ireland. I qualified from NUIG in 2013 with a BSc in Speech and Language Therapy and also completed a MSc in Advanced Healthcare Practice and Research in 2019.  I support children and their families with speech, language and communication development through practical evidence-based assessment and therapy.

 My Approach

As a Mum of two young boys myself, I work in partnership with parents, recognising that you are the expert on your own child.

My approach is practical, supportive and tailored to your child.  Where appropriate, I incorporate play-based approaches into therapy, recognising that children learn best when they are engaged, motivated and enjoying the process.

Special Interests

I have a particular interest in early communication development and speech sound difficulties. I am passionate about supporting communication from the earliest stages of development and helping parents understand how everyday interactions, play and responsive communication  can support their child's speech and  language learning. I also have experience working with children and adults with voice difficulties.

How I can Help

I support children and families with a range of speech, language and communication needs including:

-Early communication development

-Late talking

-Speech sound difficulties (pronunciation)

- Language understanding and expression

- Voice difficulties including vocal misuse or vocal strain

Not sure if your child needs support?

You're not alone - many parents have questions about their child's communication. An online advice session can be a helpful first step to talk things through and get clear guidance on what to do next.
